The top study was done in pen and ink for my Design 1 class and focused mainly on creating consistent values with different shading patterns. The bottom study was done in charcoal in drawing class. It is a copy from the textbook that explained all the areas of light and shadow when it hits a sphere, like the highlight, reflected light, core shadow, etc.
